BATFE doing away with Tax Stamps for Suppressors?

As an SOT I have heard zero about that. My guess is that is %100 fiction. The GCA of 1934 would have to be ammended to allow the removal of the $200 tax stamp from the process. If that was at all true, there would be info availible on a bill to create the amendment to the law.

Out of historical ignorance, was the suppressor even a reality in 1934 or added later?

After posing the question I see the Maxim was patented in 1909. How prevalent were they in 1934 none the less?

Its totally bunk, just call the ATF they will verify it.

Yes they were prevalent in 1934. The reason they were put on the list was to prevent poaching.
